Join us live as we dive into the world of Microsoft Fabric! In this session, Zoe will walk you through the process of creating semantic models using three powerful approaches: Direct Lake, Import, and DirectQuery (DQ). We'll explore how each of these methods can be utilized within Microsoft Fabric to build robust and scalable models tailored to your data needs.
But that's not allโonce we've crafted these models, I'll demonstrate how you can leverage them to write efficient DAX queries using the DAX Query View. Whether you're new to Microsoft Fabric or looking to refine your skills, this demo will provide valuable insights and practical techniques you can apply to your projects.
Bring your questions and curiosity, and let's explore the possibilities together!
Zoe is a Product Manager at Microsoft working on Power BI in Microsoft Fabric with features such as DAX query view, Direct Lake, Model Explorer, and Copilot. Before coming to Microsoft I was a Power BI consultant and mentor, enjoying the Power BI community forum and taking on data challenges.
Join us for an exciting livestream event where Eiki will explore the transformative potential of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI in Japan. Eiki will introduce his journey in data analytics and discuss how large enterprises in Japan are embracing Fabric, driven by its innovative Copilot feature and comprehensive data analytics capabilities.
The integration of Power BI and SQL Server communities in Japan has fostered a closer, more collaborative environment due to Fabric's unifying capabilities. Reflecting on a memorable workshop Eiki conducted at the Microsoft office in Japan, the event will highlight opportunities for Fabric adoption, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMCs) new to Power BI. These companies seek a seamless data platform experience, leveraging Fabric's connectivity with Microsoft products like Teams, M365, and Power Platform. As the demand for Power BI expertise grows, this presents significant business opportunities for partners, consultants, and training companies. Donโt miss live demos and insights into maximizing the benefits of Fabric and Power BI for your organization.

You need to know what's going on in your Power BI tenant. There is a wealth of information available in the Power BI Admin APIs, data to support all sorts of operational monitoring and analytics: unified refresh monitoring, cross-workspace report usage, end-to-end security lineage (who can see what sources, who has actually viewed data from those), datasource refresh utilization (are you slamming one database with dozens of refreshes at 8am every day?), and so much more. Busy Power BI Administrators and Operators need this information, and they can't wait for it. Argus PBI provides turnkey whole-tenant monitoring.
Join Argus cofounder Greg Baldini as he shows off the insights available when you combine data available from those APIs.
He slices! He dices! When it comes to Power BI, Greg Baldini does it all. And he is here to show you how to, too! Cofounder of Argus PBI, cofounder and editor at Power BI Ops, and Senior Analytics Consultant at FirstLight Analytics, I keep myself busy advancing the conversation and practice of operating Power BI effectively at scale. My career has been spent in data and consulting, spanning industries and business domains. Of particular note and pride this year: 2023 is my decade of DAX, which seems a fun anniversary to celebrate.
